This season, we’re celebrating the existence of the rebel in all of us. We looked back at our favourite musicians and artists from our younger years, who were heavily influenced by the punk movement and its embrace of individuality, creativity, and non-conformity, and reimagined it for today.

Punk culture originated somewhere in the mid-1970s, growing out of the 1960s hippie movement. Punk philosophy fused the 60s message of peace and idealism with an expression of frustration and anger at what punks saw as a societal decline into an apocalypse, political failure and nihilism.

Today, we see “punk” thriving as an attitude that advocates freedom, embraces unapologetic self-expression and upholds individuality and agency – inspiring all with the boldness to be who they are.
